Have you heard my new album yet? I think this is my best work so far, I am super proud of how it came out!
Sometimes it’s a bit awkward how revealing releasing songs can be. Exposing parts of my mind and heart to the whole world that I keep hidden from almost everyone. What’s more awkward is revealing those things, and then not knowing if anyone is paying attention. “Let The Sun In” hasn’t been out long enough for me to have received any sales reports, so I have no idea who’s listening, or how they feel about it.
I just finished up a tour of the West Coast, playing stripped down acoustic versions of these songs to anywhere from over a hundred people in a back yard to thirteen people at a tea shop patio. Connecting with people like that is so strange and intimate. Speaking with people after the show felt like speaking with friends, as if it was just established that we knew each other. When the tour was over I felt completely exhausted, not by being overworked or road weary, just overcome by gratitude, by how kind and warm and welcoming people can be!
Anyways, I didn’t intend to ramble quite so much on this post, but I hope you’ll take a listen to the new album, and please let me know what you think, feel free to ask me anything you like, and please please please share it if you like it!
Welcome to the world Bernice Anders Kendell..😁… Just kidding, we named her Genevieve Stardust Kendell, she was nearly 10 lbs, 21.5 inches, and apparently she just couldn’t wait to join the fun, because she was born in the front seat of our van. Yep, Katrina gave birth sitting in the passenger seat, while I leaned over from the driver’s seat to catch the baby, and Evangeline coached from her carseat behind us! It was a wild night to say the least. We couldn’t be more excited. (at St. George, Utah)
